Anhoni

Released: 1997. Starring: Mahnoor Baloch, Shakeel, Humayun Saeed, Qazi Wajid, Sami Sani, and others.
It focuses on many issues like a pretty young woman in a working environment, and what she has to deal with day to day because almost everyone falls head over heels for her. I think it was taken a bit to the extreme, but if you don't think about it too much it doesn't bother you. Topics like unemployment and drugs are also shown. It combines humor with serious issues and makes it fun to watch. A few glitches: they should try to cut down on the "bad guy on the telephone" part, how come the boy's family don't really know he's on drugs? and a bit too heavy on the eye makeup and what's the deal with the tope on Shakeel!; plus there seems to be too much lighting in some places and not in other places-a fault of the camera man I supppose. I'm glad to see that finally Humayun is not overshadowed by another actor and has been given room to perform. Mahnoor looks very confident and has performed well. A lot of new faces who have performed well too. I watched the whole drama but didn't understand what Adnan Jilani's motive was in marrying the youngest sister? Overall a good one to watch if you like household problem-type dramas.
