The story of Poora Chand revolves around the conflict between husband
and wife, the parents and the children and the social compulsions which
bind and unbind them.
Shoaib Hamdani (Asif Raza Mir) an advertising king, is a man caught in
between circumstances; insulted at every possible moment
by his rich wife Sherry (Tabassum Arif), he lives a hellish life
only for the sake of his daughter Tania, who herself is shown to be an
emotionally unstable child due to the constant fights and intense hatred
between her parents.
Reena (Nirma), a model belonging to a poor background who works in a few commercials in Shoaib's advertising agency. Her sincerity
and kind-hearted nature wins over Tania and Shoaib. Tanvir (Sharafat Shah), Shoaibs
assitent manipulates this relationship to his own use and starts poisoning Sherry against the leftmenu. Assisting him in this mission is Zeeshan (Abdullah Kadwani) a classfellow and collegue of Reena who likes her. Ali Afzal
as Qudoos sahab is a pious college proffesor and someone who too wants
to marry Reena but is stopped by his cousin Sherry. Poora Chand now
reaches a point where Reena has fallen in love with Shoaib and asked him
to marry her and Sherry takes Tania and leaves Shoaib to go to her
mother's house as well has taken over his office and started an
inquiry against him. Shoiab Hamdani has reached a point where he has to
make a choice and the choice is not an easy one. -by Gina
Other Comments:
Nirma's acting is hard to tolerate. She is screaming in every single scene instead of acting. Asif Raza Mir has nothing much to do except look confused. Wonder what the hype was all about. A fairly below average play.
