Long Play Telecasted on PTV 1998
This plays deals with the topic of middle age love and such plays are quite
rare to be seen here. The play and the acting by the whole cast was
excellent and it was really nice to see Abid Ali and Uzma Gillani again
after approximately 15 years.
Uzma Gillani plays a widow with a grown up daughter Tazeen Hussain who works
in the theater. She works as a radio announcer and both mother and daughter
have not come to terms with the husband's death. Abid Ali is a rich bachelor who does not believe in love. His brother Adnan Jilani lives with him.
Uzma and Abid meet and unknowingly fall in love
and suddenly find themselves in a situation where they do not know what to
do. Ofcourse like all love stories they cannot unite without any hitch and
here the hitch comes in the face of Tazeen and Adnan who do not want the leftmenu
to get married for their respective reasons. There is also Sajida Syed,
Abid's cousin, who's in love with him. And ofcourse
the major problem is their age in Eastern society people simply cannot
fall in love in their middle ages and get married. Will the lovers finally
unite or will the society win. Good play and must be watched. -by Gina
