Ranjish

Released: 1997, on 5 cassettes.
Starring: Nohman Ijaz, Nirma, Mahmood Aslam, Saba Pervaiz and others. Written by Yunus Javaid. Nohman is a rich father's "bigri hoi aulad" (spoiled son). The father is the average dirty rich businessman. Nohman marries Nirma who's poor and they soon realize "ah! we are not meant for eachother". Saba Pervaiz asks for a divorce from her husband played by Mahmood Aslam after blaming him for a lot of things which are not true. She is in love with the lawyer who files for divorce and wants to marry him. The story gets a bit complicated and slow at some points although it starts out good, and some of the dialogues seemed too familiar. There is quite a lot of men bashing too which got monotonous after awhile. The whole drama is average...not a new story. Nirma does an ok job but seemed like she was dressed more for a movie than a drama (that's just my opinion). Nohman Ijaz had some shades of his role in Yeh Zindagi. It was nice to see Mahmood Aslam in a positive role.
