Uraan

Released 1994, on 4-5 cassettes.
Starring Shakeel, Faryal Gohar, Sawaira Nadeem, Abid Ali and others. Well the name tells you that it has to do with flying. The drama is about PIA pilots and air hostesses and of course it's going to be a bit biased since PIA provided PTV so many accomodations. The best part about it is that people get to see a lot of the famous cities of the world. The flight takes you to Paris, New York, London, Nairobi, Khatmandu, and Istanbul. We get to see the problems faced by the people of each city and of course the comforts they have. The drama does touch on some serious subjects but it became a bit monotonous after the first 5 or so episodes. Faryal Gohar gave a good performance. I was surprised to see that PTV showed women wearing shorts, mini skirts, and dancing around! Some of the dialogues I found to be a bit uncomfortable like the VIP from Pakistan asking the women to come to his hotel suite and have a good time, but maybe he served his purpose by doing so. Overall it's an ok drama showing the problems of PIA employees because they stay away from home so much. If you want to take a spin around the world then watch this. The cameratography is great!
